I believe it might be a different diameter sleeve or spring hat.

to OP, you have to cut and shorten your struts. Keep the kit, i have it on my car, chopped my strut casings i can go very... very low... i actually made a thread about this DIY.

What matters is what shocks you use, ie e30 inserts, that allow you to use the shortened e36 struts.

....if you do continue with the sell then you really are are a waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles30..
