    Two I clusters.

    Both have blue backs

One with 230149 which I'm not sure if everything works - 40 shipped.

One with 167646 which I know everything works - 60 shipped.

yeah. good deal here. blue back should be later model. clusters are interchangeable, fuel gauge and temp gauge isnt i believe.

So you're saying these blue backs will work in my 84 318 but the temp and fuel gauge won't?

OR are you saying that the gauges themselves won't wont transplant between the different cluster types.

Danny if these gauges will work in my 84, how much picked up sometime this week?

Coding plug clusters, the ones with the blue backs, have different tachometer and fuel economy gauge units. It appears that they are just motor driven units and there is no electronic circuitry like the older white NCPT clusters. As such, and the connections being slightly different, the early and later units will NOT swap.
