For sale are two steering racks. A recently rebuilt e30 rack and a used e36 rack.
e30 rack $100:
It looks like this rack has been painted at some point hence the darker color in the pictures. It came out of my e30 that I acquired from a friend a couple of months back. I am told the rack was recently rebuilt and I can say that there were no issues with it what so ever when it was in the car. It came out because I wanted quicker steering and opted for an e36 rack. Boots and tie rod ends seem to be in good condition but the little plastic piece where the column connects is a little mangled as seen in the pictures.
e36 rack $125:
This came from a 1995 318i. The boots were shot so I took them off and I would suggest replacing the tie rod ends. Inners seem to be more or less okay but the outers are definitely shot. They are not that expensive so I would definitely recommend replacing all four of them. I do not have much history on this rack but I was told it was perfectly fine when taken out of the car (less than 100k miles). Have VIN of the car it came out of if someone wants it for whatever reason.
