    M42 complete engine w/harness&ecu, Getrag trans for sale - $350

    SOLD!



    Just pulled this out of my 91' 318is for a motor swap. I am looking to sell the following:

    M42 engine w/ alternator & PS pump attached
    Uncut harness w/ all sensors attached
    ECU
    Getrag 5-speed transmission
    Exhaust header
    Shifter assembly
    Motor mount arms
    Guibo (looks to be in good shape)

    The engine has ~112k on it. It came out of the car running great. Looks like oil leakage from the timing cover and oil pan. Nothing major. Sounded and ran great. I wouldn't hesitate to drop this into another car today.

    Please PM or email me if interested. I am asking $350 picked up, for everything. Firm.

          That's a great deal, m42's never around when you need them. I believe that trans is a getrag 240.

            You know what, now that I just looked again, I think you are right. For some reason 260 was sticking out in my mind, but I think I'm wrong. Thanks for the heads up.

                    Im local and very interested. What is condition of the motor and tranny? Looking to use it as a backup for the Duct Tape Motorsports 24 Hours of Lemons car. I need to know if any possible issues so i can make it reliable. Thanks.

                      I'd say the engine is in really good shape. I recently replaced the timing chain tensioner (hydraulic tensioner in side of motor) and I always kept good oil in it.
                      To make this engine very reliable, I'd re-seal the timing cover and the oil pan and I would replace the rubber vacuum hoses that are getting old and cracking. Thats it.

                      Let me know if you'd like to come check out the setup. I will be moving it from the shop to my garage this week.
