HERROTHERE
I have for sale my M20 Engine I ripped out of my 325E when I did my M50 Swap.
Had this in the car since I bought it, used the lower mileage head off my parts car and had it rebuilt. Probably put anywhere from 5-7k miles on it while I had it in their after I "Rebuilt" it. I didnt touch the bottom end. I drove to NJ For G-Fest and back, Drove to CT and MA multiple times. This engine has plenty of life left in it.
I must of spent $1000 in gaskets/parts and whatnot on this thing.
New-
Head that HAD 160k on it Rebuilt by B&B in West warwick RI, Cost $415.
Head gasket
Head Bolts
Cap/Rotor
Waterpump
Timing Belt
Cam Seal
Intake mani gasket
Exhaust mani Gasket
Bosch Copper plugs
Bremi Plug wires
VC gasket, tho has been pulled off for valve adjustments, Small oil leak at front of engine. may be the half moons(Rocker shaft plugs, which were replaced, but i don't know if their seated properly.
Starter was New according to the PO of my old parts car.
All of the vacuum lines.
Thermostat (Cooler temp one)
Thermostat housing gasket
Oil Pan Gasket
Many other little gaskets. I took my time, had it on a stand. Repainted the driver side of the block. Spent hundreds. But wanted more fast, so Im now finishing up my M50TU swap, need funds to fab an exhaust tho!!!!
Took off the rod bearing caps, inspected Rod bearings, they were all minty. Re-torqued all of them down to Spec.
Oil changed at around 2000 miles. This was the engine I got in my car. My Car's ODO stopped at 232,912 miles. I dont know how many miles are on the bottom end BUT, I did a compression test and a cylinder leakdown test a month before pulling it. Compression numbers were All Within Spec, All around 150-160 throughout the 6 cylinders, and the cylinder leakdown showed absolutely NO LEAKAGE. NEVER Burnt oil(That I Know of, or could tell of). Like I said before small leak at front of engine. Could be the cam seal , or the rocket plugs. Engine Always started on the second crank...I wouldnt be afraid to drive this thing across the country. Everything was cleaned as best as I could, many parts were painted. Its a great little motor.
One thing about it tho, the reason Im letting it go so Cheap. Somehow during the rebuild of the head, the rocker lock wasnt put back in, this allowed the rocker shaft to spin, breaking a rocker clip and cutting off oil flow to the head. I heard it happen , and drove home 5 miles (Had no choice, Was on Base, couldnt get it towed -_-). That was 4000 miles ago. I sourced a new Lock, spun the rocker back, replaced the broken clip with a new one. and it was happy motoring ever since. never had a problem with the motor after that EVER.And I deeply regret taking it out Might have a small vacuum leak. But I dont think thats anything really to do with the motor.
While pulling the motor out, the alternator bracket broke. New one will be included with sale, along with spare alternator and A minty PS pump. And two alternator belts. No AC Compressor, tho I have the bracket.
You will need your own harness. I have the old one but the C101 connector has been cut off, the injector connectors are all broken and the TPS connector was cut, tho its still on the TPS
