Thats not for 89 or 87+ clusters...its an early board. Pin out is different.

Maybe that's why it did not fit in my car (1991 325i). Well, I guess it's a pre-87 SI board? It has the lithium batteries, and as far as I know, they came out after the NiCad batteries. Maybe there was some overlapping in time between the different si boards?

Thanks for letting me know. Cheers.

No overlapping, they don't interchange at all. I do have 1 more late model SI board for sale if you need one, $45 shipped. Sold 3 this week on ebay, 1 last one left.

If it is an early board, will it fit in my 85 318?

Yep, notice it does not have provision for a front mounted coding plug ...the jumber of pins is different between the two boards.

Just check what board you have and compare it with this one (number of pins, etc). If they are the same, it will work on your car. Please let me know.

I know they are not interchangeable at all, I was just wondering about the time they came out. After I got the one I am selling, I finally checked and got the late model one that was compatible with my car, so I won't need another SI board. Thanks anyways.

I need a board for an '86 325es, I'll take my cluster apart soon to make sure it's the same.
