FS: Built S38 with T88h turbo and much more

Up for sale is a fully built turbo s38 with a metric mechanic transmission. This is the motor out of philpots "big red" car over on bimmerforums.

Pictures of the build can be seen here:

The car this motor is in is just a rolling shell now. It will come with the motor.

Here is what it comes with:
    Custom aluminum intake Manifold
    Custom Turbo manifold
DTA Racing P8 Pro Stand alone ECU
    Wire harness
    3 bar map sensor
    Drive shaft
    3.64 diff
Custom Built Transmission from metric mechanic
    600 hp Clutch
    Starter
    Water pump
    Alternator
    custom Fuel Rail
2 pump 600 rwhp fuel system
    1600cc injectors
    Greddy T88H Turbo
Full 3" exhaust from Turbo all the way back
    Intercooler

    Motor specs:
S38 motor (fully built): 94mm weisco pistons, forged rods, new rod bearings, crank bearings
new valve stem seals, new springs, bottom end balanced, new fresh chromoly rings, up rated wrist pin new timing chain tensioner, new timing chain guides, new oil pump chain and guide.

Just to be clear this was a S38B36 that was bored out to make it an S38B38.

    The bad:
Before the car was shipped to its current owner the previous owner cut the turbo off of it as well as the end of the intake manifold. This wouldn't be too much of a pain to fix if you are skilled with a welder. The standalone still needs to be wired up as well.

I do not own this setup. I am just listing it for a friend who doesn't have time to sell it himself.

Looking for 5500 obo for the whole setup.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions and I will try to answer them as best I can.

    Thanks,
    Nick

Sick deal on a VERY potent set-up, motor alone is worth a good deal more then the asking price! :firehop:

Too bad philpot screwed me, and a bunch of other BFC members over before he stopped posting on BFC.....

Basically what happened is after my friend in NY paid for the car the previous owner got greedy and cut off the turbo and part of the intake manifold and tried to sell them on craigslist. In the end the parts were all shipped to NY and they are with the car now. As far as I know those are the only issues.

Not sure I'm entirely following you here. Basically nothing has been done to the car or motor since it arrived in NY. As far as I know it's in the same shape it was in when it left FL.

Incorrect. I've been trying to buy this car since September. The car has been made un-rollable and un-towable since it arrived in NY (found this out the hard way when I went to go look at it). I've been working with the seller to make it rollable, but its taking a while. If someone does buy it out from under me, be advised that the motor will likely be need to be re-opened, verified, and re-lubricated before it's used. It's been sitting outside in the worst possible climate to store a motor for a few years now.

Also, this engine is much too big/heavy for an E30, unless you really want to build the worst handling BMW in the country.

A lot of shady stuff here fellas. Sounds like a badass S38 nonetheless.
