FS: Cooling Mist N/A Water Injection kit.

100PSI N/A Single Stage kit as purchased from Cooling Mist.

    Retail is ~215.

I will sell it shipped for 1/2 of their current sale price, $100.

Everything in the kit functions perfectly and quite to my satisfaction, just won't have much use with it with my next set of modifications going on shortly.

Could you explain to me what exactly this kit does? I'm curious.

It injects water into the cylinders in a mist. Usually used on high power engines where the cylinders get extremely hot. To keep temps down they use water injection. It basically mists water into the intake and the water cools down the cylinders. Since it injects a very small controlled amount it wont hydrolock the engine. Make sense?

usually high compression where you have problems with detonation from either too high of pressures, temperature... or usually both combined

                Ding ding ding.

The system injects water as a fog like mist into the intake, where it evaporates. Water has the highest latent heat of evaporization of any liquid on earth. To put it simply water absorbs alot of energy (heat) when it goes from a liquid to a gas. It significantly cools the intake charge.

Any idea what the difference in octane you could use vs your compression, or is this more of a preventative measure for high load situations. i.e. could you bump your compression from say 10.5 to 11.5 or 12.0 CR and still stay on 93/94 octane pump gas? What HP are the injectors sized to?

                      Thanks

Water injection won't allow the use of a lower octane fuel. It can allow higher compression for that given octane however within reason. I can't say as to how much as I just dont know.

This worked to curb my pinging problem (with the added Texas heat) under normal conditions.

This kit is good for ~300hp. Different injectors for higher power are available from cooling mist for pretty cheap, as are alot of other upgrade parts.

Several interested parties, but no money has changed hands as of yet.

                          bump!

Jordan, it fixed your pinging and now you're selling? Are you looking at a different engine, or am I missing something here?

I have a new head going on with a heavy port + polish, completely reshaped and contoured combustion chambers to promote a proper flame front and full burn. No sharp lines or edges, and significantly increased chamber volume. Chambers also fully mirror polished. Doing ceramic coated headers as well.

back to the topic at hand.
