No offense, but that is a crappy CL listing. If this said person really wants to sell this engine ($3k asking), they should include a bit more info on what went into this s52 rebuild/upgrade. Especially since CL is filled with scam artists who steal pictures, post crappy info like this and then jack people on the deal. Not calling it a scam, but if guy was serious he'd include a bit more info in the posting, as well as some real contact info such as email or contact #.

Sorry about the lack of info. Craigslist has been a great place to buy and sell automobile parts and advertise services.. Never seen scams on craigslist but on Craigslist you can't give out info in that manner if you are interested simply pm I will send a phone number I aways provide 6 month worranty on engines very confident on the job you won't be disappointed. Well the engine was from a customer that couldn't afford the job at the end basically all new internals we sold him a used s52. He kept the tranny sorry I would have included at no extra charge as the tranny was never redone. Anymore info you need simply pm me please

The CL post looks like it was written by someone with a fourth grade reading level, and has the engine been tested, or started? Are compression numbers available?

The 1999 m3 engine has 190 to 195 all the way across. And as for the rebuilt they shaved the head and calculted it to 11.2. anything else just ask vin number or whatever you need to know I will be more than happy to help.

Was the cylinder head machines due to a warp, or to increase compression? How many thousandths were taken off? Was any other work done to the cylinder head? Any work done to the combustion chambers? Were there any cracks repaired? Were the valve seats recut, or were new ones installed?

Was the engine installed and tested, or were the compression numbers taken while on the stand?

When you say, basically all new internals, what do you mean? Crank, rods pistons, timing components, etc.?

The owner brought the M3 with bent valves due high reving we stripped it sent it to the machine shop for inspection advised him to upgrade the springs for higher reving he said "no" perhaps money issues.. The block had no warp nor welding repairs were done only issue were the valves. The head was shaved to 1.2.
