FS: Howe Racing 2:1 Stealth Steering quickner + couplers - $150

I was going to install this in my e30, but it's sold now.

Never used, never installed or welded. This is for the steering quickner and two couplers to be used in line with steering column

i can even throw in an extra steering column so all this could be modified with minimal downtime

It reduces you steering lock ration. Turns your e30 into a gokart.

Itd be a custom install. Youd ideally have to cut the top (section attched to the steering wheel) portion of the column and chop the shaft. Mount the coupler in the middle of the two shaft, and find a way to secure coupler casing to the top and bottom of the steering housing. Sound a little complicated but its not to bad. Fab work will be required though. ie cutting, welding, etc.

I can only imagine this paired with a Z3 steering tack........

Just FYI for those interested in one of these... this quick steering will only work with coarse spline(36tooth) steering wheels. So for guys wanting to run any steering wheel post 9/85, you're out of luck without modifying the quick steering shaft to take fine spline on the top side.

Or you could just modify the supplied couplers. With the amount of effort to get this install, course splines vs fine splines won't be an issue...

Coupler or shaft, it's the same issue regardless of the route selected. I wasnt discouraging, just informing. 70-80% of the e30's on here are later models so I'm sure they'd want to note this "extra step" for running a later wheel. Better than finding out an extra surprise.

this will be great for anyone using a stock rack, not an already quickened rack. Roughly 4 turns lock to lock, stock... down to two. It's quicker than OE replacements, but it would be best suited for autox or rallyx/rally. It's a quick ratio that I'd doubt people would want to see on highways.
