Im thinking of doing a similiar one w/o the ring/shelf on bottom taper....




this will be a bit tall for that "closer to the steering wheel" race car feel....

What materials can you use? I would love a titanium ball like the one in the pic.

You dont want a titanium shift knob. My girlfriend has one in her car and it gets tremendously hot. It gets hotter than any other metal shift knob I have ever felt. My $0.02.
