Just an update, I received it in great condition, packed with paper! No annoying peanuts, righteous cup holders that work well, AND kindling for my fireplace included? Helluva bargain.

You could remove the console and run the 2 screws you removed from the bottom up but it's not really needed.

I've had folks who run on a track with the cup holder being used and not have any issues so for regular driving it should be fine.
