And to answer the first question, these were worked on by Derek. I only sourced the tails and handled the process.

Statement below is quoted exactly from his thread:
"These were shot with transparent paint (metalcast red, VHT niteshades) and clear coated using BASF two-part urethane clear. They will be shot with a good amount of clear, reduced to sit flat, and unbuffed."
