      ok my bulb must be burned out as I have a blue based in my car.

        The base shouldn't determine whether or not it lights up. The switches do. The light is soldered to the contacts inside the switch. If it doesn't light up the bulb is most likely blown.

          the two switches are different in the way they mount to the base and have different wires. I just thought since the Blue based switches are from the rear doors that BMW may of not made them lighted, where as the White bases are the front switches and get more use so lighting them would make since.
