    FS: E28 535iS Daily Driver

Well, after much thought and consideration, I am listing my E28 for sale. I have owned it for 2 years now, and I am ready for a newer car. I don't have to sell it, so my price is firm until the right buyer finds it for sale. I am asking $4,850 FIRM. I am a BMW Tech at the dealer, and I have performed all the work on the car myself. This 5er runs very well, passes smog without issue, is up to date on maintance and needs very little (just front seat leather covers if I am not mistaken...). I have spent countless hours/dollars on this car and everything has been done that it needed. Let the list begin:

    Vehicle:
    1987 BMW E28 535iS
Lachssilber Metallic paint, Black leather interior with sport seats

    VIN #: WBADC7402H0964085
~240k miles on Chassis, 285k on engine (don't be scared, this M30 runs better than any other I have ever seen)

    Drivetrain:
Synthetics oils every 5k miles. Doesn’t burn/leak a single drop between changes.
Engine has 285k miles on it, runs perfectly and needs nothing.

    All new vacuum lines
New intake boot/valve cover breather hose
    Mustang 19# Injectors
    Performance Chip in 059 DME
K&N Cone Air Intake, sounds awesome (also have stock airbox for inspections)
    New Muffler with E34 M5 Shadow-Chrome Tips (7/04)
    New Exhaust Hangers 8/04
    New Engine mounts 8/04
    New Trans mounts 8/04

Shortened shift lever with new bushings 8/04
    3.73LSD Diff from ’87 325iS, 100k on diff 2/05
    New Diff mount 12/04
    A/C Evac/Recharge 3/05 Blows ICE COLD!
A/C Aux fan does not work, possible relay/wiring issue.
    New Reverse light switch (9/05)
    New Factory BMW Battery 11/05
    New BMW Reman Starter 10/05

    Body:
Full Lachsilber Metallic Respray (not perfect, could use some more color-sanding/buffing)
    Body has NO RUST!
    Shaved antenna hole at trunk
    New front window guide seals
    New trunk seal
New emblems front and rear, no de-badged decklid
    Painted side mirrors
    New Factory iS Foglights
    Euro H1/H1 5 ¾” Headlights

    Glass Moonroof from Saab 9000
Brand new Factory BMW Windshield (installed 11/20/05)

    Interior:
Black Sport seats, dry and cracking but not ripped, fully functional (except headrests)
    Sony CD Player
Recent Gauge cluster replacement, mileage reads 40k less than actual
New BMW E39 Leather shift knob
Only 4 Small cracks in dash, pretty clean for the cars age
    ’85 Functional Center Dash Vent
    Fully functional OBC

Other misc trim pieces, headlight switch, ect.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As you can see, the car has had a ton of maintance and care put into it. I wouldn't sell it if I didn't already have too many cars. I am not driving this car much anymore and I hate to see it sit around and not be driven. I am located in Goleta, CA 93117. I am available in the evening and on weekends to show the car/give test drives in. Please, no tire kickers. This car is very nice and will make its next owner very happy. e-mail me at m3_ryan@hotmail.com or call my cell at (805)450-4466.

If they weren't so early-model-e30ish looking, I'd probably be buying this car. Solely because I've fallen in love with M30s as of late.

God I wish you weren't across the country.

Why are you guys afraid to drive a car across country? Ryan's car is nice enough I would have no issues flying out and driving it back. I've done that with 3 cars already this year. I drove my e30 more than 2400 miles home and it was in no where near as good condition as Ryan's e28.

If you want a nice car, don't be afraid to drive it. Hell pay me, I'll go get it for you.

Exactly doesn't anyone remember his engine build thread on this car. If i had the extra cash lying about I would snap it up. But I am looking at purchasing a rental home right now.

It's not that I don't trust him, it's that I would rather be able to see and evaluate the car in person before making a decision on buying it... flying 2000+ miles to look at a car you might not end up buying seems a little excessive. Especially if you don't buy the car.

Didn't you rebuild the motor in this thing? New rings, bearings etc?

Guess to me you just have to make up your mind that you're going to buy it before you go, then if everything is as it was represented you buy it. If it's not then you don't and you're out the $280 for a flight. I highly doubt Ryan would misrepresent it.

Ryan, you rebuilt the M30? Mind telling me if you used a rebuild kit, or just bought everything seperately? PM me if you'd like, I have no intent to jack your thread.
