I would like to take these, just one question:

Do I need to swap out the headlight buckets or anything like that for these to work? I have an early model US 1987

(Pardon my noobness, the e30 is very new to me still.)

^ Yes, these require the plastic headlight bucket for ellipsoids. Different high beams would be required too.

Of course more stuff is needed! Thanks for the quick answer, I'll have to do some reading.

Anyone want these? I do get the fact that the price is high but these are almost new. With almost no pitting.

I have a '91 318is, would I be able to just swap the low beams and keep my current high beams?

If you have projectors from factory, than Yes.
                        If sealed beams, than No.
You will need entire bracket / adjusters if you want to upgrade form sealed beams.
                        These are sold btw.
