When I set out to make a these SkidPlates I looked at what others were doing and made changes and improvements where I saw they were needed. I could have kept going and made it even stronger. But, then more extensive modifications would have to be made to the car. No matter how good a product is there is always a limitation. I wanted them to be easily installed, only needing basic tools.
To get any stronger you would have to spend more than twice as much.
This is sump armor for the people!

yep, that's why I got it. It has features I like. for my purposes, being a bit more abusive than most people, I will modify it somewhat. That doesn't take away from it being just fine for the street, and way better than those other ones with all the slots cut in them.
Probably gonna be a while before I get to it. Sorry.....
Just a heads up for everyone.
I have all SkidPlates in stock. But I'm gonna be out of town for a week for work. So orders won't ship until I get back.
I can do any SkidPlate without a drain hole. But by request only. I wont be stocking them so please allow some time for me to make you one. If you want a firm eta just pm me.
I just shipped out a bunch of SkidPlates too.

Got mine in today, here's some pics. Also another e30 rallycrosser saw it posted on our team FB page and apparently ordered one today as well. Plus Spencer up there is getting two.
Anyhow, good sturdy piece. Very nicely made (got complements from my Subaru rallycross buddies who are heavily armored). All the bolt holes match up perfectly, fit is excellent, etc. Like I said, i'm going to reinforce some areas for my own purposes (rallycross) but I would have total confidence using it as-is for street use.
Only issue I ran into is that the steering rack bolts are a bit too short for my liking with the plate on....I can hardly get the nut to fully thread. So I'll pick up a couple longer ones at Fastenal tomorrow, no biggie.
EDIT: the bolts ARE long enough, but I like to have a few extra threads on the end so I can double-nut it for rallycross.
Anyhow, put it on to mock it up before I take it off to add my modifications. Here are some pics of the new, unadulterated product :)
