    ZF 5 speed manual transmission

ZF manual 5 speed transmission from a 1997 z3 2.8 with 101,000 miles. I developed a noise in the trans area which I felt was a bad throw out bearing. After research I found that it could also be a bad input shaft bearing that was causing the noise. I made a decision to replace the clutch assembly and transmission to save on down time. After the transmission was removed the repair shop inspected the clutch assembly and transmission and discovered that the throw out bearing was very loose and totally "womped out" causing the noise. They inspected the transmission and found no shaft play and the shaft spins freely. The shop installed the new transmission at my discretion and informed me that the old transmission is fine. The old throw out bearing is still on the the trans so you can verify how womped out it actually was.

    I'm asking $250 picked up.

If you weren't thousands of kilometres away, this would be mine.
