Our team is in the process of swapping a Chevy V6 into our E30 salvage car and I've finally sold off enough little bits from the interior that I can afford to sell the no-longer-needed BMW drivetrain for lemon-esc' prices. I know jack and shit about BMWs (hense the Chevy engine swap) so if you have a question you'll need to type it real slow and make it real simple. Give me good instructions on what I'm looking for and I'll be happy to try and find the answer to any questions you have about it.
Here's a video we took of it driving before we yanked it out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMNdSWPXu0E
I drove it for about 45 minutes getting it home from the salvage guy we bought it from, it drove strong and the clutch and transmission were in great shape. The story I was told was this guy did a bunch of work fixing it up after a hit and then his insurance totaled it out anyway rather than pay for the repairs. It appears to have been someone's project car, among other things it already had a LSD installed (we're keeping that) and a brand new drive shaft. So it is possible there is a new clutch in there.
Anyway, enough stories, down to brass tacks. I'll let the engine and transmission go for $500. If you want just the engine then figure $300, just the transmission $225. The engine includes the wiring harness, just give it gas and plug it into your computer. I also have the computer I'll let go for $50. The driveshaft, including a practically new guibo, is yours for $40 + trade a chevy 3" driveshaft that is at LEAST 56" long. In fact, I'll give a $40 credit to the first person who brings me a chevy drive shaft as partial trade on any of this. I also have a good rear windshield if one of you nutters wants that for some bizarre reason. The brake/clutch pedal assembly and clutch piston are available for $90 if someone is wanting to convert their auto into a 5 spd. The fuel tank also looks newer than '89, make me an offer on it and/or the sending units and transfer pumps.
