Nope ,actually i didnt ,this tranmission is a 262 and came from a E30 M3 i was kind shocked too because realoem.com and everyone says 265. I dont know the deal on it but yeah its a 262.

uhh, that's cuz it is a 265.

Go on s14.net and type in getrag 262 or transmission and you will find there is a getrag 262 that was used on E30 M3's its a close ratio box. The transmission i have says 262 on it much like the way the 240 does and the 260 does.

Does it say 262 on the bellhousing or on the transmission? Some people with 265's have had a "262" labelled bellhousing.

I thought all M3 trannies were 'sport' trannies. Meaning that they all had close ratio boxes. I'm guessing that this MIGHT be a dog leg box. Can't remember which is which now, but if it is then 300 bucks is a damn good deal for that.

You thought wrong. The US e30 m3 trannys have the same exact ratios as the getrag 260.
