For sale is a running engine out of a 1991 318is (M42). This engine was removed to put a bigger engine in the car so nothing is wrong with it. It has 195,000 miles. It looks like the head gasket has been replaced recently (you can see the cylinder head is very clean). The engine comes with the transmission, wire harness, airbox, afm, power steering pump, alternator, A/C compressor, coil pack, clutch and flywheel, and pretty much everything else you need to put this in a car.
These engines are getting hard to find. I've paid over $1000 just for the cylinder head from one of these in the past. This engine will fit in the 1992-1994 318i, 318ic, and 318is but some conversion is necessary.
Like I said, the engine was running perfectly before pulling it out and I have video of us driving the car the same day. I have no doubt this engine will go far past 300,000 miles with the proper maintenance.
