Hopefully someone chimes in on the issue.

Regarding the difference between the E36 M3 shifter and the 1.9; they are actually different, and people have been swapping the stock E36 M3 levers for the 1.9s for 10+ years. It's more complicated than just looking at the pieces side by side, the ratio is what matters.

I installed it back to back compared to my e36 m3 shifte and it was nearly identical in throw amd feel, so I sent it back for a z3m. Here's a picture.comparing the two I took last weekend.

Sounds good, so it might be worth it for the ZF transmission guys to stay away from the 1.9 as the E60 or Z4 shifter will have more affect.
