Nice, inexpensive solution to voltage monitoring! I like mine a lot. Thanks jaywood !!

I was able to dim the glare by cutting two small layers of smoked plastic sheeting to fit inside the LED frame, and a tiny dab of silicon sealant in each corner to hold them in place. Typical places for cheap, smoked plastic sheeting....office supply store, craft store, photography store. After I finished, I found some old flat lensed glasses like they give you after a trip to the eye doctor.....those would have been perfect, but too late as I was all done and spent like $4 at the office supply store.

I used a small piece of window tint while I had it apart. I ended up using a regular switch blank and cutting out a window. I glued the tinted gauge to the newly modded blank and snapped it in.

Didn't get pics yet and didn't drive the e30 today on account of the snow we got overnight here in Indy.

Is there a red transluscent filter on the face so that you can't see the 888 numbers in the daylight?

Ok, thanks! planned in using window tint, but didn't think of using the original blank. What did you use for cutting? Power tools or just a sharp knife?

Frank, no there is not. In the sun the voltmeter is somewhat difficult to see regardless. In the shade it's easy.

I'll play around with the tint guys. I'll order some up!

It would be cool to have a panel like this that can display the oil pressure and water temp. Then I wouldnt have to use bulky aftermarket gauges, taking up lots of space.

Haven't you ever seen Russian Nesting Dolls? They work like that.

I wish I could find a mini digital gauge for that... I have thought about it as well...it would be very cool. If any of you guys have any thoughts/suggestions I'd love to hear it.
