Euro E30 M3 Dog Leg Transmission

I have an Euro e30 M3 Transmission for sale. This is the close ratio transmission with a dog leg first gear.

    Part #:
    262.0.0510.90
    225
    1.3

The transmission was purchased from Bimmerworld.com about 5 years ago and has been in storage every since. It was supposedly a low mileage unit and would appear to be so.

There are no cracks in the housing. The input and output shafts spin freely with no binding. It has not been cleaned or hot-tanked. No bell housing is included. The tabs on the reverse light switch were broken when packed for storage.

Asking $1200 or best offer. Shipping through UPS can be arranged. Located in Westminster, Maryland and can be inspected before if local.

    Please ask any questions.

If the two bolt holes just outside where the shifter linkage attaches then it's a standard US spec gear box as i have the same gearbox in the basement and it's a traditional shifter pattern.

I was mistaken on mine and don't want to see you go through the same issues as I did. I had to travel to Scranton PA to refund/ p/u the gearbox after the mistake was made. If it's truly one you should pm Jimmy P on S14.net he buys them.

It's easy to just engage the gears to verify the shift pattern. OD boxes have nothing below reverse and doglegs do.

The shift pattern is a dogleg.

Easy if you have a linkage on it. Easier if you look in the two holes and see if threaded non dogleg, no threading dogleg.

I always want to spin a used trans in each gear anyways, so it is going to be engaged in each gear. A medium sized phillips screwdriver will operate the shift shaft with no linkage just fine, just remember front to rear is reversed.

Good to know the tip about bolt holes.

Sale Pending. There is no threading in the holes. I can post close up pictures if the sale falls through.
