These will only work on 318 and 318is? No other e30 models?

They will work on all e30 models, probably just sprung for a 318 - doesn't make much difference.

      Early models do it better.

I do not know the answer to this, maybe someone with more knowledge on a 5 lug swap can answer this.

These are drop ins. Per instructions the needed tools are basic tools and a spring compressor.

If the strut housing is cut and use ix insert, these will go low. I'm not sure if the front collar will fit e36 housing for the 5 lug swap.

If the housing is not cut and set to the lowest, it'll be riding on the bump stop. Its Like jom without the shocks

                    slightly confusing...

the paperwork there says 320/325. sticker says 318 1983-1992.
i say confusing because 83/84 is the 45mm housing vs the later 51mm housing.

maybe OP could measure the inner diameter of the front sleeves?

Just measured. My caliper is basically worthless but it reads 53mm ID on the front.

I know JOMs can go pretty low in the front. So these can basically go as low as JOMs in the front without the strut housing cut? Would you be able to tuck bottle caps with these and bilsteins?

Every coil over kit in the world for e30's lower the same amount unless you section your housings. They go as low as your shocks bottom out when installed properly with the cut perch.
