I'm pulling the drivetrain out of my 1999 E39 528 shortly in order to perform an LS swap and I'd like this to go to a good home. I have an inch thick stack of receipts for every part and service going back to 2003. Only full synthetics and premium fuel ever used.
The engine has 165k and pulls smoothly and passes California emissions. No smoke, no dripping, no abuse. In my wagon it returned better than 25 mpg over all sorts of driving. Solid compression, and I'm more than willing to get a Blackstone oil analysis if the buyer wants to share the cost. Will come complete from intake to exhaust, and the alternator was replaced less than 2 years ago. Issues: pinhole leak in the intake manifold gasket, can be heard with a stethoscope. Causes CEL, occurred over the last 1000 miles. Original VANOS seals/o-rings, but they never caused any problems so I never dug into it.
The transmission has been babied. Shifts super smooth, removed clutch delay valve about 2 years ago, 30k mile fluid changes. Issues: original clutch! Probably a good idea to replace it, but it's still not slipping.
The car will be in the Miramar/San Diego area, and if you act soon enough, you can drive it before this all gets pulled. Pictures and video are no problem, just tell me what you want to see! I'll consider separating various parts.
Give me a shout!
