If you wind up needing it I have a complete, uncut M42 harness for cheap in the Hartford area. Also have a bunch of other M42 parts, though the engine had a couple extra holes when I got it. I'm happy to do a package deal on stuff, especially when it's local. Check out my ad here http://www.318ti.org/forum/showthread.php?t=38993

Shoot me an email at budget1976 at yahoo.com if you're interested.

I have a 90 or 91 4 door 318i that was a running driving car, i used a ton of parts off it but nothing drivetrain related, id trade you whats left of the whole car if you wanted it.. I have no use for the drivetrain and the cars pretty gutted.. None of the wiring was touched

What exactly did you do to the m50? From your pics on instagram it looks like you just took the head off, put it back on and changed the pan? If thats the case and its not actually rebuilt, im not interested

curious on why not to keep the m50, but I can see your point on weight distribution, but they are just money pits. So if you get one, get one that has all the timing stuff delt with, profile gasket, and make sure it didn't over heat. check the cams for wear, and before you bolt it in, re gasket the pan because the bolts tend to vibrate out, on the top half that is covered by the bottom half if that makes sense. good luck!

All I have ran have been m42s and I love them, I would be driving my turbo one but the dude who built it didnt use apr studs with a mls head gasket soo the head lifted, and one the rebuild I replaced every gasket, the therm, water pump, ect ect. The only thing I didnt tuch was pistons and rings since it was a low mileage e36 auto motor
