I have a m10 block an head from a 02 which is the 2.0. The block has 10-1 pistons an the head has had some work an has a elgin sport cam in it which is like a 292. Putting this set up in you will bump up your liters .2, an compresson up 1. an you will have more power as well when combined with your fuel injection.

this is a pretty sweet setup, i had something to this on my e21, ran pretty well.

i had this in my 02 with sthal headers, ansa sport exhaust, and webber 40s, it was great power. had it torn down to this level was going to go and have 10.5-1 pistons an go up to 45s put plans change.
