The m50 manifold was a factory part for all 3 series from 1992/1993-1995. It also came on select 5 series bmws equips with the same engine. This manifold is different from the m52 manifold which is found on all e36s from 1996-1999 which are the OBDII cars. The difference between the two are the size of the intake plenums (the tubes that go into the engine). The m50 is nearly twice as large per cylinder when compared to the m52 manifold. This mean MUCH MORE AIR going into the engine which means MORE HORSEPOWER!
