Just received mine a few days ago and they throw the check light on my '89

installed mine and got a similar error. i tried starting the car, then turning on the lights and it doesn't seem to throw a code. it was daytime so i'm not 100% though.

If you start the car and turn on the lights it should not throw a code. Just like HID headlights. These have a resistor inline but on initial juice do have lower amperage.

As said I tested my 87, another early model a late model. Obviously every single E30 could be different with the way the Check Control panel works but I tested them first.

That's what I did and I still get the error... I am really happy with how bright they are otherwise.

Still throws a code On mine when I start the car then turn on the lights, but I'm okay with that at the moment at least. Here's how two 3x LED bulbs look:

you werent kidding about the tight fit. Any tips? i think im going to hot glue them into the housing.

Which bulb type? The larger or smaller?

Got mine in yesterday, the 3 LED ones, just put them in and i love them! they look great! They'll only throw a code if i turn the lights on before starting it
