Feeler: e30 furniture.. Couch? Chair? Loveseat?

I'm looking at a few extra e30 interior parts right now, and came across a silimar couch which is pretty badass, selling to the tune of $850 I think..

So my question is, since I have the means to make stuff like this, would anyone be interested in furniture like this for their living room or man cave?

I'd want to make couches similar to this, badge included,, Chairs made from recaros, may or may not recline,, ottomans made from basketweaves etc.. Prices would be fair, and MUCH less than $850 lol

Let me know if you'd be interested and I'll get to work,, If there's no market, I'm not gonna waste my time...

Mods if this is in the wrong section, please move it! :\

Saw this in another thread, love the idea and was looking at building my own as well. Get an idea of your cost and let us know!

I was also inspired by that artist long ago too:

            Geeze time flies...

I eventually sold them off. If I had a large garage I'd probably have kept them, but I'll make something nicer looking some day. E30 rear seats are surprisingly comfortable outside of the car, so they make perfect loveseats.

Very interested! Have badges and plenty of rear seats, so let us know if you would just sell the housing/frame and we can just drop in the seats.

That original couch is in our local "science world". It was done for the " green initiative". It's made from a seat (obviously), and the frame is an old fridge. The arm rest is the freezer door.

I have sat on it, and it really is cool in person.

That's a great idea...very cool and would make this much more cost effective.

That's really neat, I had no idea that's what that was lol!

Preliminary sketches and measurements have been made.. Getting more concrete pricing of materials in the next few days.. Working on ideas on how to make this cost effective for shipping.. I'm thinking of making it buildable by the customer,, I would provide instructions for you to assemble it when you get it,, that way I wouldn't have to ship via freight.. Is this a better idea than shipping them assembled?

Exciting development, I will be able to paint the frame any factory BMW color of your liking!

Also, would there be an interest in chairs made from comfort seats? Sport seats? How about ottomans(footstools) made from old school rims? I have a lead on some e21 13" basketweaves that would be perfect for something like this....

Sport seat office chairs would be cool. Zygmunt motors has a wooden sport seat office chair. That's right somebody took the time to replicated every bolster of a sport seat in wood. And although not as comfy it is way cool to see. Wonder if they ever tried to mount it in a car

My garage is all about clean, but not that clean. Maybe in the basement though.

As you've probably figured out, shipping costs are the killer here.
