      Hi,

I am assuming this will also work with my 3.07 Torsen diff from a z3. Will the sensor be right for this application as well? I am currently running e30 diff cover on the z3 diff because the z3 sensor wouldn't plug into the car. Now it plugs in (e30 cover an sensor on the Torsen) but I don't get a speed reading

The internal style of diff has no bearing on the diff cover or speed sensor operation. There are two different sized sensor rings ( the toothed ring that spins in-between the ears of the sensor) one has teeth that are about 1/4 inch shorter. This may be why your e30 cover didn't work on the Z3. You may have the shorter sensor from an e30 with the shorter teeth from the z3 hence no signal.

This cover and sensor are both from a Z3M and will work on any Z3

Will that sensor plug into the e30? My other z sensor would not.

          Thanks for the info!

            Z3M cover needs e30/28/24 188mm speedo ring

E34/36/z3 non m use a smaller diameter speedo ring.
