I don't think shipping is an option.

I think most people in the market for a gas tank would want to take a peak inside the tank ;) recently had to get a new (used) tank for mine. You would not believe how rusty and nasty the inside of my tank was!

It does have a gummy layer inside. I washed it with clean gas till it ran clear.
I read about several "treatments" for cleaning - most involved chain or lugnets inside, lots of agitation, and various chemicals - acetone, kerosene, TSP, lacquer thinner, etc. I didn't know whether potential buyers would want to do that themselves or not. If I invest a day's labor & $20 in solvents I will have to get a higher price.

Taking it a step further, once clean, if there is appreciable surface rust, I would expect to acid wash, dry and then seal with a high quality sealer. At that point, you are talking about a $350 product. At one time I had seen $600 for an NOS tank but I don't know if they are still available. I know rock auto has repros for a little over $200 shipped but at a minimum they will need repainting.

I don't know how much if anything guys will spend for OEM over what a cheap repro will go for.
