+1 for getting different springs. Koni dampers a both more comfortable and perform better than bilsteins.

Thanks guys! I've gotten tons of Emails and PMs, I'm going to take the general suggestion of contacting GC first and modifying the existing system. If none of the options fit my comfort level I will start replying.

Just swap the springs and spin the adjusters up. The dampers are adjustable so you can soften them a few clicks.

That'll be easier than finding stock suspension. The original unmodified strut housings are as rare as hen's teeth.

Stick with the GCs. Coilovers don't have to be uncomfortable.

Will the above mentioned setup be similar?
It is possible to use softer springs, how ever, if the roads are less than smooth the dampers will in fairly short order, get blown out due to the suspension running out of travel.
The suspension has been shortened for decreased ride height and suspension travel.
For comfort, suspension travel is the key.
I've been there and done that.

Are your coilovers sleeves welded on with shortened strut housings or just slipped on? Welded on is better. Coilovers also give you more adjust abilities than lowering springs.

Call GC and give them the specs of your current spring rates and tell them you would like to go with softer springs.

*Before you call GC, set all your shocks to the softest setting and test drive the car. Hopefully, you will find the ride satisfying enough.

All I know is the spring rates are 450 front and 600 or 650 rear. Do you have any specific questions?

    I bought Greg Strube's car.

Ground control 650/450lb springs and Koni struts/ shocks with GC camber plates. Very clean hardly used setup. This car is being serviced at my shop now and I can vouch for their condition.

W2Trade: E30M3 Ground Control Coilover Setup

Hello ... I bought a S54 swapped E30 M3 and my goal is to have it as comfortable as possible.

I'd like to TRADE the current Ground Control Coilover Setup for your FACTORY E30 M3 setup.

This is a great system for anyone that wants to track, lower, or have a more aggressive system on their car.

    Thanks!
