Is this for an early model? There is a difference in which i learned when buying my new crank... Ended up pulling out that rod and trying to shave it down but broke the gears in the process. hopefully I'm not wrong about there being two different kinds which leads to the compatibility issue.

Bavarian Autosport has the same part # for 1984-1991. I don't see a difference between early and late models.
