Is the premium 35w kit just a bigger ballast? And the 55w are all slim?

should be ordering a kit tomorrow

Premium ballast are a 'medium' sized ballast. Benefits of this extra space is a larger heat sync, rubber injection molded and higher quality components. Of course igniter is inside the ballast instead of inline like on the slims. The 35W Premium is brighter than the 35W Slim and most basic kits on the market.

35W Slim is a quality kit though. Not to take anything away from it and more budget oriented.

55W is the brightest. All 55W are slim, yes.

In the e30, do these require a relay harness for reliable ignition of the bulbs?

I know that in my Subaru(s) HIDs don't play well without a relay harness.

Edit: Also, does the 35W versus 55W Slim design have bearing on the need for a harness in the e30? Meaning is the start-up draw the same?
