It would be optimal on my build to just get a proper length stainless braided line. I know when I installed stainless braided lines on my e39 M5 they were considerably longer in the rear. I wonder if a set of E39 M5 braided lines would work front and rear. I believe the lines I used were from bavauto.com and may have been a semi-universal kit that fits other cars.

Has anyone installed this kit with a correct length brake line for the E39 rear caliper?

No clue - no access to an e39 to try out. From some quick googling though they look too long

Do You know if the e39 front brake line fits the rear caliper? That should be long enough to reach the caliper without kinking and would not require to use an extra hose.

Does anyone have a picture of how they mounted the caliper bracket in the rear? I can't tell if it should be mounted towards the top or towards the bottom since the adapter can be flipped 180*. I have to cut the dust shield either way so I'm not sure.

Not a half bad solution, but would rather only use one hose if at all possible.

I connected my E30 SS rear lines to the rubbery E39 rear lines. The E30 rears aren't long enough since the E39 caliper has the screw in for the line on the back/inside instead of on top like the E30 calipers. The E39 lines will barely fit but puts the line on stretch with a weird bend in it, so I also feel like that's not long enough. I asked about this in a thread in the "5 lug conversion" subforum but no one replied with a different solution.

What are people doing for brake lines for the rear? I haven't installed mine yet but unsure if it will fit/reach the e39 rear calipers.

I purchased a set of the adapters but am waffling on the conversion. Also picked up and pair of front E46 M3 calipers and rotors w/6K miles on them.
Looking at doing the full factory conversion. So I may be selling and would be looking to recover my cost.
    Details to follow.

I'd be down for a set of these if they fit on the ix.
