pulled from a running car, Bosch ECU number ending in 173. Installed in the ECU is a Viper2 chip, the guy sold a few chips a while back, decent chip judging by the ass dyno. also will include a stock chip. $175 shipped OBO

Will this work on an M20 out of an 87 325is?

yes. it will be an upgrade to 1.3 motronic, which some say will idle better and have better throttle response, although that could just be talk. also you will get the check engine cluster blink thing.

I dont want to low-ball since I dont know how much the chip costs, but I am really just looking for the 173 ecu for my old 89 325is, and then if the chip isnt too expensive using it in my ix. If it is too much $$ for the chip I just want the ecu~ and matt hasnt got back to me yet about his 173 so I just want to cover my bases. How much for the ecu and chip seperate?
