Got a set of Front and Rear Bilstein sports. Were on an 89 325i. Rears have approx 18 months of daily driving so they are still in great shape. The fronts are approx 6 years old. The first 4 years they weren't driven much and then daily driven for approx 18 months.
The bump stops were cut down some for more lows and they were bottomed out a few times but worked great when I raised it back up slighly. They spring back fine when I compress them by hand but I would assume they are more worn due to time/age.
