A friend of mine got rear ended in his 86 325es last week and insurance is lowballing him hardcore, so I'm trying to help him unload a few parts so he can afford a new car, cuz the $700 check insurance offered isn't gonna cut it. The car is still in the tow lot waiting for them to finalize the claim and all that but we're going to get it this week and tear it apart. If you are looking for any other parts let me know.
Anyhow, the motor was fully rebuilt by Mighty Motors in November 05. The car has 199k and I think the motor is original (will check VIN when we get it from tow yard tomorrow). Anyhow, there are well under 5000 miles on the rebuild and it was done right. I was 2 years old when the last ETA was sold new so I don't know what they felt like from the factory but I can say this motor pulls very strong and I imagine runs as well as when it was new.
The car has a Dinan chip and the chip or whole ECU can be included by request.
I'm trying to get details on the rebuild but I know for a fact that Bearings, rings, and all gaskets in the head were done. Will find out if valve guides or valve seals were done, as well as try to find the receipt for the job.
Anyhow, if anyone local to Boston, MA wants refreshed ETA longblock with all accessories and everything, please let me know. Motor can be picked up in Cambridge/Somerville or West Roxbury, and should be out of the car by Friday 4/28 at the latest
