Several months ago, I bought a wrecked, m50 swapped e30, and swapped the entire set-up into my 318i. I am very happy with the swap but have recently found a killer deal on a s50. Needless to say, I bought the s50 and will be doing the swap pretty soon. The m50, complete with all accessories except AC, and a ZF gearbox is officially for sale. A little bit ago, I ran into the owner of the wrecked e30 I pulled this motor from (Really good dude and the same guy who owns this) who said the m50 has right around 100k miles and has a lightweight flywheel installed. Ive put about 2k miles on the swap and have had no issues.
My e30 currently has the m50 installed and would not mind taking anyone seriously interested for a drive. The clutch on the car is solid but it recently started making a nasty throw out bearing noise. I also recently noticed a little oil leak near the gear box so the rear main seal will probably need to be changed as well. Car still drives and I still use it as my daily driver.
I'm asking 800 obo for the whole set up with harness and everything the s50 swap will replace. I need to hold on the the ecu, oil pan, sump and dip stick for the s50 so unfortunately that's not for sale. however, I do have an s50 oil pan I will be giving you with the engine.
