    Wasn't the e34 m5 an M30 based block? If so then you would need the S38 starter to use with it.

        The tooth count is different from m10/m30 based engines to m20/m52 based engines. You would need the starter from the s38. because the M30 starter weighs like a million pounds.

          The flywheel is 24v and accepts an e34 clutch and pressure plate.
