I have a set of new Monroe Sensa-Trac shocks and shock mounts that fit the rear of, I think, any E30 from 1983 up. These shocks are not as harsh as Bilsteins. I have a set on my 1990 325iC and I love them. The part numbers are 5947 for the shocks and 901965 for the mounts. Go to the Monroe electronic catalog to be sure these will fit your model.
The Sensa-Trac shocks are Monroe's top end shock for BMW's and retail for about $40 each and the mounts are about $18 each. I'm not gonna mess with selling these separately. Pay Pal me $50 and you will get everything shipped to your door.
