That would be my daughter Noelani's 1981 El Camino project car.

Gonna get a 4.3 TBI and a 700R4 along with re-done interior, purple metallic (her call, not mine) paint, and a big ass stereo and alarm. Slotted mags with 265/60/15 on rear, 205/65/15 on front...next, she is gonna cut her hair in a mulett!

Anyway, back to the stereo crap....NO ALPINE! No Infinty, either. Sorry boys.

Turns out I do have a set of fairly decent AudioBahn 5.25's, the AS 50Q.
These are kinda cheap, but sound OK. I wouldn't recommend them unless you have either a deck with a high pass or are running them off of an amp in high pass mode. They are "Convertible", meaning the tweeter can be removed and mounted seperately. You install a "phase plug" when you take the tweeeter out.

If you guys want a great set of 5.25's, the Memphis MSyncs' really do sound great, and are removable tweeter too. Carbon Fiber cone and a 3 year warranty is sweet! These easily walk all over the Infinity for less money and better warranty. Far better crossovers, far better drivers.

Anyway, on the deck front, I have a Sony CDX-F7705X which I think is a great deck, but no WMA support. I really like the Panasonic CQ-C5401U. It has WMA (which kicks the crap out of MP3 in every way, on any day) and MP3, 3 high-volt pre outs, nice controls and isn't too hideous. Cheap, too!

Cheap, excellent sound, decent looks. I was really inpressed with the management of the USB slot.

No linkie, sorry. My cost is $196 on the damn thing...it is all over the web for less that that. Read some reviews befoire buying this deck! My fingers cannot hit the buttons well, but I do wear a size 15 ring.

I'll be waiting for another wave or 2, my dad just picked up an e39 and the sound is not becoming of a nice car like that... IMO the sound system belongs in a pinto.

Anyway, I carry ScyTek alarms. I really like them, they are cheap as hell but I have had no failures of any kind yet. They are a prime manufacturer, so their product is sold under many labels.
