question: if you were to put this in a non-m e30. how would you get the oil temp to work?

Not exactly sure, I don't think the wiring would be in the OE harness for it regardless. My intentions were to put the MPG gauge in it's place.

And it is actual miles, the car it came from was thumped in the rear a bit.

You would have to hard wire it.
