    FS Great M20 motor/trans from 89 325IS

    Hi,

I am looking to sell my current great running M20 motor and Trans package from my 89 325is. I am getting my car prepped for an LS1 motor swap, so I would I wont need any of these parts.

The motor has had fresh head work done by the PO around 15K miles ago. I have had no problems with it at all, except the Alternator that I replaced about 1500 miles ago. The motor is strong and has no known issues other then a couple minor small oil drips that I haven't been able to track down. (about two drops when parked in garage)

I have put around 1200 miles on a single trip with no issues at all. Idle is perfect and never gives any issues at starting or running. A shame to change it, but I know its a great runner. I would like to prematurely see what interest is out there. I want to give the buyer a chance to see it run in my car before I pull it.

The car has 250K miles and I am guessing the motor does too. Most have been refreshed or changed and the main timing belt, water pump, accessory drive belt, and tensioner have been replaced 18K miles ago or so. All done with OEM parts. The trans was changed with redline fluid and shifts smooth with a z3 short shifter and new bushings.

I would like to trade for a T56 trans or BBS RS wheels(cash on my end) If I have to take cash I value this around $1500obo from my own experience with proven setups. Most often, I find motors that haven't been running for a while or have a knock."risky" The buyer will be able to see exactly how the motor/trans sounds and drives before they buy.

    Tom

            food for thought...

I sold my mint running M20b25 from my '90 cabby with metric blue headstuds, recent t-belt/water pump, solid compression, with 159K miles AND 260 grind free transmission...for a third of your asking price.
