if he misrepresented the vehicle, you have legal recourse, btw. "as is" is only "as described" and the seller is absolutely required to be forthcoming with the description of the vehicle. now if he never said "no rust" and you didn't ask, then that's a different story, but i've never heard of anyone negligent enough not to ask about rust on a 25 year old car. good luck, either way
