The big black thing is the charging circuit.

The instructions I include covers everything. They take 3-4 mins to read, and you'll know everything (and more then) you wanted to. I include them for total first timers. The rest of you will just be able to snap it into place and hook up power.

As far as "constant power" vs "ACC"(switched power when the key is out, it's off), that's covered in the instructions as well. You can hook it up to constant power if you want. When nothing is plug in into it, it uses almost no power (~3mA or 0.003 Amps), so you totally can. I cover the pro and cons of that in detail in the instructions.

This is where George's product stands above every other aftermarket part I think I have ever purchased for my e30's. To describe the instructions in one word I would say "complete" is probably best. Such as simple product being basically a 2 wire hook-up I was astonished to find the instructions to be longer and more detailed than what I received with suspension components....

USB Power Adaptor

Is there an e36 application for this yet? I have all these empty spots next to my Cigarette Lighter and this USB outlet would be perfect!!

Yes, I can do almost any car, as long as he switch blank is the right size and is made of the proper material. I've done e36 ones, you just have to collect a few switch blanks to send me.

Yes. You can install it so that it's always powered, even with the key off. It's all covered in the instructions.
