Those look to be factory BMW shocks, which probably have 200k miles on them by now and are blown. Buyers be warned.

Good call. The BMW stamp. Not aftermarket billys.
OP what do you mean just taken off? In a very literal sense of just took them off and took a photo? How many miles have you driven on them? Were they on the car when you purchased it?Comment

Yes, they were on the car when I purchased it - were these types OE equipment?Comment

I am not trying to take advantage of anyone on here. If they are in fact OE shocks then I made a mistake and will most likely just toss them. They most certainly are not blown or in bad condition.Last edited by doctor12valve; 07-17-2015, 07:07 AM.Comment

No hard feelings intended. Those look to be OEM in every way, and if they really are, I know for a fact there blown. Shocks typically last about 60,000 miles unless you went with a good aftermarket brand, and even then it would be amazing to get more then 60,000 out of them.
Have you compressed them in by hand? They should rebound rather quickly and all at a similar speed. If you ask me these where probably removed off a 325iS with sport suspension, and are in fact OEM with very high millage.

Yes they are tight and slow on compression and rebound is slightly faster than you can compress them... but I had not considered the possibility that these werent HD's - too bad, but I appreciate you bringing it up, and saving me from mailing out something not as described. No hard feelings intended. With that, they would need to be cheap.
To refurbish these via Bilstein is a little under $100 per, plus shipping and a few weeks back-log.
One can buy them brand new for the amount to refresh these.Comment

Just got a PM from OP. He's new to e30's and didn't know they where in fact OEM. Seems to just be trying to make an extra buck or two like the rest of us here.
-Sorry for the miss understanding/ getting off on the wrong foot. Just looking out for the forum so they don't buy something different then what the item was advertised as.
