FS: Original E30 Hella Smoked Crosshair Projecter Smiley Headlights (NOT DIY)

    ***Updated - September 4, 2018***

    SOLD

    Hi all,

***Please Note Parts are Located in Vancouver, BC (CANADA), 3 hours north of Seattle, WA***

I accept PayPal and can ship at the Buyers expense (via USPS, 5-8 business days for delivery). I'm a professional and understand how to pack properly for international shipments.

Up for sale is a pair of Original Hella Black / Smoked E30 Euro Smiley Headlights. These lights will fit 3-series models from 1983 to 1992 (all variants, including Touring, Sedan, M3, Cabriolet, Coupe).

This is a very good set of Headlights with some light pitting on the glass (see photos), associated with age and use (overall the glass is still very nice). The lights function perfectly without any issue, all plastic bushings are functional (the intermediary between the adjusting screw and the headlights). No damages such as stone chips or cracks. This is a complete Hella set.

These lights are very rare and I bought them with one broken lens (see photo) which has been replaced, original lenses are also included. The unique design allows the lights to appear black without any loss of lighting. The crosshairs in the highbeams allow the headlight bowl to appear black when the headlight is actually chrome and the main beam fascia is black while the ellipsoid (magnification central lense is chrome behind, the lenses are clear to allow max light through.

    Details:
    1) Imported directly by myself from Garching bei München (just north of Munich), DE
    2) Fully functional set of original HELLA BLACK E30 Euro Headlights
    3) City light wiring is included
    4) Trim Rings are flat black (as shown in the photos)
    5) Full Hella Set (all 4x headlight units and the casings, see Hella stamped emblems)
    6) Original Hella lenses are included. One is broken (see photos), the lights now have standard Euro smiley lenses (note: the shape of top of the main beam lense, an oval vs. a circle).
    7) All Adjuster bushings have been replaced (12x new), see photos.
    8) Colour coded OEM BMW wiring looms are included (a $40 value)

Benefits of Euro Lights over North American:
    1) Euro lights provide a brighter, wider band of light and the colour of light is typically more clear. "Smiley" feature allows for lights to be redirected at the road surface for better lighting along the side of the road.
    2) Both the dipped/main beams and high beams take H1 bulbs, which allows for easier installation of HID.
    3) City light is a standard feature (a small 9w at the top of the dipped/main beam), which provides a light "glow" throughout the lens of the light.
    4) Most people consider them to be more visually pleasing, i.e. nicer look

Why buy my lights over others, a list of detailed work involved:
    1) a 3-4 hour complete re/re of all parts for functionality test and cleaning
    2) re/re of all adjusting screws and cleaning with wire wheel to allow smooth movement of adjusters.
    3) Refinished Trim Rings in Matt Black (i.e. shadow line).
    4) removed all caps and cleaned mounting surface to insure proper fitment and remove any swell on the aluminum from weathering.
    5) I've been rebuilding these lights for over 8-years and have considerable experience.

Concluding remarks: overall this is a very nice set of headlights and they are ready to be installed and for immediate use.

The last set I had of these was in 2015, they're just extremely rare...

    INCLUDED:

    Adjusters with new Bushings

So rad, can those be purchased new still? Or would this be a super rare chance of getting these. I've wanted these for a while now.

I haven't seen a new set for sale for a long time. But I can't say for certain that they're NLA.

Mann! These are on my list. Just timing is off. If they're still around when the time comes I'll shoot you an offer.

Forgot to mention that the Main beams were resealed with Ultra Black RTV sealant.

Yeah, they’re getting harder and harder to find for sure!!

Last set that I had was in summer 2015... 3 years ago.

They’re just so regularly faked, the high beams are really the most unique part

I think the pricing is on point.... I have had few people PM me and ask me to advise once they sell because so few sets come to market
